Brown Gold – an all-time favourite created in the 1980s by James Masterton, son of our founder Jock. Brown Gold was the first coffee blend that was sold with a label, designed by James himself. This sparked the creation of the unique blend labels we still have today.

We were flying from Cambodia to Hong Kong when the passenger next to me started making his own coffee ☕ with a French Press. Turns out he is a coffee expert who judges barista competitions and writes for magazines. "What is your favorite coffee in the world?" I ask him, curious to discover a new brand. "It's a coffee by a little known coffee family, who has been making coffee for generations. It's called 'Brown Gold' and it is made by Masterton's in Port Elizabeth, South Africa". "You like good coffee", I said with a quiet smile, for I've been enjoying it since childhood.

This is a must have for coffee lovers that enjoy a dark chocolate taste. I blend my beans fresh for every cup and that gives a wonderful crema and ensures max enjoyment of Brown Gold. Don’t leave PE without getting your hands on at least one pack and one pack to give your friend that needs better coffee in their house, you will change their life for the better!
