The Masterton's Coffee Roasting Process coaxes golden flavour from a bland coffee bean. Unroasted coffee beans boast all of the coffees acids, proteins, and caffeine, but none of its fine taste. It takes heat to spark the chemical reactions that turn carbohydrates and fats into aromatic oils, burn off moisture and carbon dioxide, and alternately break down and build up acids, unlocking the characteristic Masterton's coffee flavour.
The smell of fine roasting coffee escaping from Masterton's has been tempting the inhabitant's of Port Elizabeth since 1924 and the reason why so many loyal customers prefer to collect their favourite blend from the roastery.
